Aase Texmon Rygh was a Norwegian sculptor who was born in Troms County in 1925. The artist passed away in May 2019 at the age of 94. Texmon Rygh studied at the National Academy of Fine Art, Oslo from 1944-46 and then at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1948-49. She received international recognition and praise, particularly after being represented at dOCUMENTA 13 in 2012. Furthermore in 2014, Texmon Rygh had a dedicated exhibition, Modernism Forever, at The National Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo. The artist’s work was last shown in New York at the Armory in 2020 with OSL Contemporary.
